To promote Edinburgh’s cultural diversity, Edinburgh City Council’s Destination Edinburgh Marketing Alliance commissioned Inner Ear to produce a series of web videos and audio podcasts.
We researched the subjects, conducted filmed and recorded interviews and edited a five minute web video, short mobile-friendly version and longer audio podcast. As with all of the content we create, natural authenticity is very important to us as we believe stories should be told by real people in their own words. To achieve this, we interview subjects and encourage them to talk about their favourite subjects in a relaxed manner, then select the best material when editing the content.
To improve accessibility we transcribed the videos and used YouTube’s Closed Captions feature to create subtitled versions. Once complete we hosted the videos on the Inner Ear Vimeo, uploaded them to the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital YouTube and published the audio version in Soundcloud. The videos were first used on the This Is My Edinburgh website.
The below video and audio content is from the first interview we did with Clarke Peters (star of The Wire, Tremé and author of Five Guys Named Moe).
