Hands-on Online Promotion is the title of the seminar Inner Ear’s Dougal Perman and Andy McColgan are going to deliver at Amb:IT:ion Scotland’s Getting Digital Roadshow on Thursday 27 May at Stirling Management Centre, University of Stirling.

Inner Ear’s workshop presents an overview on how to use free online tools to help you market your organisation effectively through social media. Use digital media tools to communicate your message through social networks. Spread the word, increase awareness and reach new audiences.

In this hour long introduction to marketing the arts using social media, Inner Ear will guide you through a series of practical examples of how to use blogs, services like Issuu, YouTube and Flickr as well as platforms such as Facebook and Twitter with reference to RSS, tags and embeddable media. At the end of the seminar you will be given access to a Delicious feed and this step-by-step guide with many links to useful references and further information:

For the workshop you will require: sign-up to the Amb:IT:ion Scotland online network (you will implement examples of these free tools during the workshop) and a WIFI enabled laptop or mobile phone capable of internet access. Sign up at http://getambition.ning.com.

In addition to Inner Ear’s workshop are two other practical sessions in Intellectual Property from Intellectual Assets Centre and Digital Video from New Media Scotland.

The day will also feature keynote speaker, Ewan McIntosh, NoTosh Limited; case studies from Andy Caitlin, Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh; and Julia Fenby of Glow with co-presenter Paul Gorman of Visible Fictions.

All this, and more, for free!
