Glasgow UNESCO City of Music Launch Video

Glasgow UNESCO City of Music Launch from Inner Ear on Vimeo.

In 2009, Glasgow was awarded UNESCO World City of Music status. To celebrate and document this prestigious award, Glasgow City Council, through Culture & Sport Glasgow, established a City of Music department to promote musical activities and endeavour all over Glasgow. Inner Ear is working closely with City of Music, who have endorsed our internet radio station, Radio Magnetic.

City of Music commission Inner Ear to produce a short video documenting their launch activities, which included a mass drumming event on the steps of Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, music in subway stations and libraries and a fanfare by the RSNO and RSAMD at a gala dinner hosted by the Lord Provost.

This video features, amongst others, Royal Scottish National Orchestra Musical Director Stéphan Denève, composer Craig Armstrong (both ambassadors to the City of Music), Glasgow’s Lord Provost Bob Winter, a fanfare by the RSNO and RSAMD brass and music from Breabach.
