Scottish Arts Council, Tune Up:
Touring Music Promotion

Tune Up mapIn 2006 Active Events, who manage Tune Up on behalf of the Scottish Arts Council, asked Inner Ear to produce a podcast series about each artist’s experience of their tours.

Tune Up is a Scottish Arts Council supported initiative that enables Scottish and international musicians to tour to venues around Scotland. It is funded by National Lottery and was established in 2003 to bring high quality live music to communities the length and breadth of the country

We send each touring act away with an audio recorder and digital stills camera and ask them to document their trip. Following a brief set by us, which the artists are welcome to interpret how they like, they record thoughts, opinions and experiences of their tour. We then take the raw recorded material and shape it into a succinct story of each artists’ Tune Up tour.
