Scottish Album of the Year Award

Since the inaugural 2012 ceremony, Inner Ear and Radio Magnetic have provided a live stream of the annual Scottish Album of the Year Award (SAY Award). These high profile, Scottish music industry events involved a number of prize givings and live performances from Scotland’s top music acts and, of course, the big announcement of the very best in album release from Scotland over the past year.

The 2012 ceremony was held at the iconic old Glasgow venue, Film City with 10 shortlisted Scottish acts all fighting it out for the winning prize of £20,000. The eventual winners of the coveted first ever SAY prize were the legendary Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat with their collaborative album, ‘Everything’s Getting Older’. Inner Ear provided a live stream of the entire event and subsequently produced a highlights video for the ceremony, now available on YouTube.

We also produced a series of live sessions for the short listed SAY Award 2013 acts in collaboration with Dewars Whisky at the brand’s old Aberfeldy Distillery, called the Dewar’s Sessions. These sessions feature performances from an array of the best in Scottish musicians from innovative jazz duo New Focus, to the electronic productions of Miaoux Miaoux and the eventual winner RM Hubbert, performing alongside Emma Pollock.
