About Us
Inner Ear Ltd. is a new media production company specialising both the production and utilisation of high-quality digital content. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Inner Ear produces high quality content for streaming, broadcast, mobile and podcast distribution. We make programmes for brands, broadcasters and businesses. We create and use new media digital properties, like podcasts and streams, in external marketing, internal communications and business development.
The company was founded in October 2000 by Dougal Perman and Tom Lousada. Our first venture was the highly-acclaimed internet radio station Radio Magnetic, which began broadcast on 19 March 2001. Still active, and more popular than ever, today, Radio Magnetic has been one of the UK’s top five internet radio stations since it began, enjoys a strong reputation with listeners and the independent music industry alike and is one of the UK Windows Media Guide’s main featured stations.
We provide production, new media, training and consultancy. Since we began exploring new media in late 2000 we have developed skilled extertise and amassed an enviable internal knowledge base. Co-founder Tom stepped back from day-to-day involvement in January 2006 to set up the Association of Streaming Media Companies (ASMeC). He remains an active board member of Inner Ear. Our board includes top level experience in media, music industry, management and marketing.
Dougal runs the company on a daily basis and controls its creative and practical activities. He leads a team of dedicated new media professionals with expertise in programme making, editing, production, journalistic, web development, design and content management.
