Inner Ear had the pleasure of producing a live video streamed Google+ Hangout between key members of the Scotland National Football Team and some lucky fans ahead of their European Qualifier match up against the Republic of Ireland and subsequent friendly match against England in November 2014.
This was an innovative and ambitious move by the Scottish Football Association (SFA) to connect dedicated fans closely with the national team, offering an opportunity to hear in-depth insight from the players with some informal chat and questions along the way ahead of the two highly anticipated fixtures.
As a video production company specialising in live streaming of all types of events, Inner Ear were approached by the SFA to consult, help devise and produce this live online discussion. Fans online could join in and pose questions for the players by using the #WeAreScotland hashtag on Twitter in the run up to the broadcast and throughout whilst 3 lucky Scotland supporters joined the stream live via Google+ Hangout, all overseen by our on-site production team.
Scotland stars Shaun Maloney and James McArthur joined us on set along with Sky Sports presenter, David Tanner to preview the Republic of Ireland and England matches as they took the live questions from the Scotland fans on Google+ Hangout & Youtube. The duo sat down with us to shed light on the Scotland team’s preparations, the atmosphere in the camp in build up to the games, their take on the competition ahead and a few personal insights such as favourite love songs and who makes the tea in the squad.
